Person who shot the mom should be made to pay for ALL care of f the pups!!🤬🤬🤬
Rue goes for her second bandage change and recheck on her labs today with Dr Bishop. She is looking like she’s starting to feel better. You can see it in her eyes. She’s so sweet and affectionate _ to think less than a week ago she was enduring the pain of the horrific arm injury. We are all so thankful for the donations and support from you all so we can appropriately provide her the care she needs and deserves. We will find out today when the amputation is scheduled for ! Rue and the entire SNAR family thank you all !! #dontbullymybreed #fosteringsaveslives #dontdumpyourpets #spayandneuteryourpets #straynetworkanimalrescue ... See MoreSee Less

The Potts Camp MS property where we took 4 dogs from and 3 more we spayed / vaccinated and paid to transport to another rescue from ALSO had a pregnant dog. We offered to help that momma but the neighbors wanted to keep the momma. We offered to take the family repeatedly to ensure the same issue with wandering unwanted dogs wouldn’t continue in this area … we finally were able to agree to take mom and pups provide them a home to care for them while momma takes care of her babies then spay momma and return her to the property owner. We have offered and will continue to offer to keep mom and place her into a home but they all seem to really love her. We shall see how things go as time goes on. One thing is for sure - every single one of the pups will be spay /‘neutered and mom will not go back without first being spayed. We really want to ensure that the cycle stops whenever we are involved. Thank you to Michelle who’s been a true warrior on this situation in her community. She’s transported, fostered and cared for and advocated for all of the 7 we took from the property and now this momma and her newborns too! #spayandneuteryourpets #fosteringsaveslives #adoptdontshop #stopthecyclespaythemomma #straynetworkanimalrescue ... Meet Opie. Opie joined SNAR yesterday when Kat drove to Corinth Ms to meet the finder. He rescued this pup when the litter was dumped on a rural road and another rescuer took all but him. The intention was to keep Opie but in their apartment they weren’t permitted. This family loved Opie from the moment they rescued him and he was very clearly well cared for. At 6
Weeks and 4.5 lbs he is already so smart and super socialized. Little Opie will get vaccinated next week and begin his process toward finding a forever home but until then he will be getting lotsssss of love and attention from Kat and her family. We will be sharing more pics Opie is clearly photogenic!! #fosteringsaveslives #dontdumpyourpets #spayandneuteryourpets #straynetworkanimalrescue ... See MoreSee Less

Love the spots!
Sweet Rue went to see Dr Bishop for her first bandage change and recheck the tissue looks less infected - we are on the right path for her amputation. She received a b12 shot and some iron via injection too. Shes also still on antibiotics and iron to help with the anemia to prepare her for surgery. She’s a tough cookie. We are so thankful for all the donations we have some pretty amazing supporters and Rue is so thankful for the love of strangers. We have found that Rue is afraid of men we can only assume there is a reason why … makes us almost wonder if the injury cause wasn’t accidental :( Any overage of donations will go toward her spay and vaccines and any post operative needs or towards Fig’s orthopedic wrist fusion from being shot at close range :( so much sadness and abuse towards these beautiful animals. Thanks for all your help. #adoptdontshop #fosteringsaveslives #straynetworkanimalrescue ... See MoreSee Less

Sweet angel baby ❤️
Those sweet eyes..❤️
Sweet Rue ❤
❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Fig went to work with her foster Audrey yesterday and she showed off her good girl sit and even got to help out on the radio!! She’s such a pretty energetic girl! Despite being shot at close range and damaging her foot so badly that she needs fusion in her wrist she is happy and so affectionate. Dogs are so much more loving, loyal and forgiving than most people ! Her recovery is estimated to be 10-12 weeks we’d love to have a foster to adopter to help her through the recovery! Rue is doing so good taking her meds and waiting until she can have the amputation this coming week. To think of all the pain she must have endured with such a horrific injury is unfathomable. Yet she wags her tail gives love and affection to her fosters. The infection and anemia were bad enough that we had to get it under control while we wait for that to happen it gives us a chance to raise the funds needed to complete her care. Our goal per the estimate from Dr Bishop for her already rendered care, the hospitalization - amputation and post op was $2500 that’s with our rescue discounts we are now with donations on our post, Venmo and PayPal equal $1385 we are $1,115 away ! Please consider donating ANY AMOUNT gets us closer. We were not anticipating this baby crossing our path but when foster - Christine picked her up and called me there was NO WAY we were saying no. You can donate on our original post.

Joey is not enjoying his post neuter collar wearing … he’s such a handsome big BABY !! Definitely giving his foster mom a time of keeping it on and leaving his stitches alone. BUT he sure is cute ♥️ #greatpyreneesofinstagram #fosteringsaveslives #adoptdontshop #straynetworkanimalrescue ... See MoreSee Less

He is gorgeous!
We used an inflatable cone/collar for our latest stray adoption. He seemed fine with it and we didn’t get hit in the leg with a big cone.
Meet Rue- someone posted the other day about an injured dog in the Millington TN area that had been there a few days. Today one of my rescue friends husband happened to be there looking for her at the same time as our foster Christine showed up. They found her in a ditch. Laurie’s husband got her out of the ditch and Christine called me .. ( ps she never calls me only messages me so I immediately knew it was something serious. She sent me pics of this baby with a horrific injury. The dog was scared, thin, tired, stinky and in pain but still sweet and accepting of help.
I messaged Dr Bishop immediately, I knew she would be working at the new Priority Pet Urgent care center in Germantown TN and let her know she was on the way.
After Dr Bishop examined her she said:
She’s about 6-7 months old.
Very anemic.
Has a heart murmur.
It looks like her leg may have gotten in a trap and then she chewed it off to get free.
She has a low hematocrit - But her immature red blood cell count is really high meaning her body is responding.
She was loaded with hookworms.
To start treatment she is doing Antibiotics, b12, iron supplements.
She is not a surgical candidate right now.
She is Not chipped and not spayed. We were hoping to be able to sedate her tonight to debride the wound but with her labs the way they are Dr Bishop doesn’t think that’s best. She she’s going to clean it up as best as we can with pain meds on board.
We will Recheck early next week and then plan for amputation.
Dr Bishop said that Estimated treatment including today - rechecks - meds - labs and the amputation is $2500
so….. a couple hours ago I was trying to figure out how to pay for Figs $2400 leg surgery at Magnolia Vet Specialist with Dr Edwards and now we have Rue!
… please consider donating any amount -
you can do it on this post with the link or

I’m checking if we can have donations called in directly to Priority Pet urgent care too ! Thank you so much. #dontdumpyourpets #seesomethingsaysomething #dosomethinggood #donate #fosteringsaveslives #straynetworkanimalrescue ... See MoreSee Less

The heart murmur may/is likely due to trauma and anemia and will resolve as she regains her health.

Rayne… isn’t she lovely ! Rayne is about 6 -7 months old she was one of our rural Mississippi- Potts Camp abandoned group. They were pretty unsocialized and had only known outside and scavenging for scraps. People had not been nice to the group. Of the 10 there 3 were killed before we were able to move the 7 others. 4 came into our rescue 3 to another. Rayne was one of the most timid but look what a few weeks have done in a loving home. She has been shown love and patience and has learned to accept, welcome and return it. One of the most rewarding things about rescue is to see this transformation. Rayne is a smaller girl about 30 lbs she’s spayed and vaccinated and we think she will be ready soon to be adopted. We will consider a foster to adopt for Rayne. We thank Christie, Jeremy and Mia for taking on Rayne and helping her come so far !! #fosteringsaveslives #dontdumpyourpets #adoptdontshop #fosteringsaveslives ... See MoreSee Less
